Rockliffe Hall estate is synonymous with luxury, offering 5-star rated accommodation, a world-class golf course, stunning surroundings and a fabulous spa.

Now it’s turned it’s attention to the dining experience for guests, bringing on board Michelin-starred Chef Richard Allen, who will take the helm at the Orangery Restaurant.

Richard, who has held a Michelin star since 2011, will also work with the teams in the other two restaurants – The Clubhouse and The Brasserie. Speaking on his appointment he said:

“Rockliffe Hall and the North East have so much to offer and I have so many ideas that I am really looking forward to sharing. The team in place is so enthusiastic and, together, I am confident that The Orangery will become the region’s flagship restaurant offering a mix of informal yet informed dining.”

Each of the three restaurants at Rockliffe Hall offers a different culinary experience to delight guests – here’s our lowdown on where to eat and when…

The Orangery – for an evening treat

The Orangery is Rockliffe Hall’s flagship restaurant and where Richard Allen is set to make his mark, revitalising the menu using produce from across the 365-acre estate that Rockliffe Hall sits on. The varied menu is supported by an exceptional wine list, ensuring both foodies and connoisseurs alike won’t leave disappointed.

Dinner is available from 7pm; giving you plenty of time to dress-up for an evening of fine dining after your day spent relaxing in the spa.

The Brasserie – for spa day refreshments

Offering a more relaxed atmosphere, the Brasserie is famed for it’s imaginative use of seasonal produce. It’s the perfect pit stop for a light lunch or refreshments during your spa day, with a casual dress code permitting robes to be worn (so no need to have to change into your country formal attire!).

The Clubhouse – for weekend frolics

For classic British food, head to the Clubhouse where you’ll find homely dishes with a touch of ‘Rockliffe flair’. It also boasts some of the best views on the estate, looking out over the greens of the world-class golf course.

For weekend guests, acoustic live music is performed on both Friday and Saturday evenings, making sure your weekend goes off with a bang.
