Cape Town is one of the most naturally beautiful cities in the world – from the rugged coastline, with its sheltered bays and endless ocean, to the impressive vista of Table Mountain and the eternally blue skies. And standing tall between the mountain and the beach is the Cape Grace Hotel and Spa.

Cape Grace Spa Pool

A favourite retreat of the rich and powerful, this is an exclusive hotel where privacy is paramount. The hotel even has its own private marina, so you can arrive by yacht and avoid the crowds in the hotel’s lobby.

Once inside, guests are instantly made to feel relaxed thanks to the lilting African music, and desert-toned décor – and that’s just the beginning.

Treatments at Cape Grace Hotel & Spa

The spa itself is a perfect combination of modern technology and traditional South African therapies. Mud baths and aromatherapy massages can be booked alongside cutting edge skincare treatments.

QMS MediCosmetics offer a range of facial treatments which work at a cellular level to boost collagen production; while the NeoQI hydrotherapy chambers use infrared technology and steam to improve circulation and reduce tension all over the body.

And then there are the spa’s signature ‘Kalahari’ rituals, which have been inspired by the natural surroundings of southern Africa.

The Kalahari Honeybush Facial uses natural ingredients to smooth out fine lines and repair cell damage, while the Kalahari Rolling Sands Massage is an invigorating treatment which combines scented oils and the spa’s signature ‘dancing arm’ movements.

An extensive menu of massage techniques (including Swedish, Balinese and deep tissue) is perfect for stressed out politicians, or novice spa users who aren’t quite ready to brave the scary-sounding ‘Phyto-Compounding Facial’ (a mixture of muds, clays and enzymes which help even out the complexion and plump out the skin) or the exotic Khoi Khoi Escape (an oil-infused massage which is applied using a heated massage stone).

In between treatments, guests are invited to relax in the VIP lounge area, sweat it out in the sauna, or wander through the tranquil gardens of the hotel, overlooking the marina.

And when you’re all spa-d out, you can ascend to the award-winning Signal Restaurant where you can enjoy a glass of wine from a local vineyard, while you gaze out over the South Atlantic Ocean.

+ Don’t miss: The Body Cocoon treatment. Kalahari botanicals and natural antioxidants such as rooibos are combined to create a warm clay body mask, which exfoliates the skin and stimulates blood circulation.
