Amida Spa Beckenham

Today I arrived for a spa day for 2 people which I booked well over a month ago. When we arrived the staff member (Sue) was rude, didn't acknowledge our arrival and was chatting loudly on the phone, when she finished her phone call she told us to sit down and we were given 2 forms to fill out. One was the food menu - there was an appalling variety of choice - 4 abysmal sounding sandwiches, a cous coups salad and some soup. She then went back to the desk and started chatting loudly again on the phone. No other staff members were around. After 10 mins or so of waiting for someone I took the forms to the desk. Sue didn't acknowledge us and carried on chatting. After another 5 minutes another member of staff came out and ignored us so we went up and asked her if we could go through to get changed as we had been before and knew where to get changed. Sue then started to talk to the other beautician about where to get the gowns whilst still chatting on the phone. When it was time for our treatments (both facials) we made our way into the reception area of the spa and got ourselves a drink, again we were ignored by the staff in there, again on the phone and chatting loudly between themselves.   Eventually someone came over and took the person I was with through. A few minutes later I was taken through, and told to lie down with my dressing gown on. I have never been so disappointed with a treatment at any spa I have ever been to. Firstly the beautician didn't introduce herself or go through any of my medical history, allergies or skin concerns. Immediately she began rubbing my face and didn't talk to me throughout the entire facial. Twice during the procedure someone tried to come in. The first time was within a few minutes of the facial, they knocked loudly on the door and then opened it - not professional at all. I came out of the treatment room less than 20 minutes later feeling deflated and upset. I asked the girl for some water, which she gave me, told me the person I was there with would be out from their treatment soon and then left me without a single word of advice following the treatment.   I waited around 7-8 minutes for my friend to come back from her treatment and the beautician offered her water, showed her the products used and advised her to stay well hydrated. We then went and got changed, dropped our towels and robes in the linen bin and gave our locks to the reception staff who ignored us and were giggling with one another. We went to get our food, the guy gave us our table number, asked us where we would be sitting and said he would be out with our food choices shortly. After at least 10 minutes we had still not received our drinks and were very dehydrated having only been given one glass of water so far, so we went inside to find out what the delay was, a waiter shortly brought our drinks out followed by the sandwiches. We had ordered honey roast ham sandwiches, the illusion is that honey roast ham is a cut of meat, what was given to us was the cheapest form of pressed ham, with a thick layer of butter on 2 thin, dry slices of bread with a measly salad. We left the food and walked out. We have both discussed our facials and they couldn't be at further ends of the spectrum, my friend received what I would have expected, and have in previous years, experienced at Amida Spa. I am exceptionally disappointed and disgusted at the treatment we received and shall never go back nor recommend it to anyone.
